From Paia there is spectalucar 3000 meters climb to the volcano! I did it by bike two days after the XTerra World Championship!I used my mountain bike after an hard work of cleaning and brushing.

After 58 km and 3000 meters of difference in level struggling to the top an heavy rain started to fall, with a strong contrary wind. So I rode in the fog searching the summit Hut, the only shelter at the top without no food or something to drink.

I’d like to ride downhill the other side of the mountain by a gravel road, but not in this conditions. So I came back by the same itinerary under a very heavy rain till home!
